wishing well

Damn near drowned in the wishing well

Got to wishing and I thought I could swim

Then I lost my balance and I fell right in

And then Splash

To the bottom

I was squirming and trying to breath

When all the sudden I looked around

All those shiny wishing coins they started to gleam

I said Wow!

Oh so beautiful

I started wishing I did more cool things

I wished I hadn’t eaten quite so much meat

Right then I heard a fish say to me

Wish you could swim

And I said, what?

I know how to swim

I think that I learned when I was just 3

At walter fuller pool my friends and me

I think I thought I knew, Im pretty

sure that I learned to swim

that’s beside the point

ive been on boat rides and even on skis

I went snorkeling out in the keys

I don’t why I’m stuck down here you know

Pretty sure that I can swim
